In our experience, it’s best for all concerned if you can come with some idea of what you want, simply because we have so many different products to choose from. Doing a bit of homework in advance will pay dividends and ensure you get the most from your time with us.
However, we appreciate you may be at the very early stages of your project and still have an entirely open mind. If you’re not sure what you’re after, we’d recommend spending some time on the Houzz platform. You can browse thousands of images of real-life homes to get ideas and inspiration and start narrowing your search based on the kind of look you want: dark floors, pale walls, modern, eclectic, and so on. We can also lend you samples overnight so you can see them under natural and artificial light - and for more in-depth advice and guidance, you can take advantage of our free design service.
If you’ve made your choice and you’re ready to proceed, your next step is to book a visit from our experienced surveyor. We’ll come out to take detailed measurements and assess whether your existing subfloor requires any remedial work before your new flooring is laid. You can arrange the survey for a time that suits you, including an evening or at the weekend if that’s more convenient. The survey is completely free of charge and without obligation. Once your survey has been carried out and you’ve reached a final decision on your floor coverings, we’ll prepare an accurate quotation, which we’ll send to you by email. If everything’s to your satisfaction, we’ll then raise an order and email you a copy. At this point, we’ll ask for a deposit of 50% to allow us to order materials and schedule installation dates. The balance for materials is due before installation starts: you make the final payment directly to the installation team on completion of the work.
Our highly skilled professional fitting teams have long years of experience. They can move your furniture, lift existing floor coverings, fit new skirting boards, and trim doors if required. Your new carpets will be vacuumed, and new hard floors cleaned thoroughly: we also remove all waste and dispose of it safely and sustainably in our own facility. All elements of the installation work are covered by our own five-year guarantee; this is in addition to any warranties or guarantees provided by the flooring manufacturer.
